You never know what you will find in barns around here but this mantel is one of the cooler things I've found. I have an old side table I still use as a bedside table that I found in my first barn back in the early 90s - no telling how old it is. It needed lots of TLC & cleaning as the mice had made themselves a cozy little bed in the drawers. This guy though has been estimated to be from the 1800s & the previous owner of the barn had it screwed to the walls to give it, what I'm guessing, was an old time saloon feel. Not sure where exactly it will end up in our renovation, but it definitely will be a focal point somewhere! If only it could talk & tell me all the stories of it's life.
And the insulation & most of the wiring was finished yesterday!
